Why would I scan my albums and scrapbooks?

Scanning your albums and scrapbooks helps protect your memories while making them easier to share and enjoy.

You’ll have a digital backup in case anything happens to the originals, plus the flexibility to:

  • Create slideshows or videos
  • Share copies with family and friends
  • Reprint albums in a more compact format to save space

And the quality? It’s surprisingly close to the original.

In the end, scanning is an investment in preserving your memories and passing them on for future generations to enjoy.

What is included in this service?
  • Careful removal and reassembly of album pages, covers, and page protectors
  • High-resolution scanning at 600 DPI (JPEG format)
  • Basic sharpening and colour correction to improve faded or discoloured photos
  • Organized digital files, with a separate folder created for each album
  • Delivery of your scanned images via:
    • External hard drive (EHD)
    • USB/thumb drive
    • Secure digital download (Dropbox)

You can choose the delivery method that works best for you.

A couple of notes:

  • 600 DPI scanning provides a much higher-quality, sharper image compared to the more common 300 DPI standard
  • Any hardware (external hard drive or USB) is an additional cost
How much does this service cost?

Pricing is based on the number of pages scanned.

All scans are completed using a professional-grade flatbed scanner and photo-quality software to ensure high-resolution results you can print, share, and preserve.

Standard album & scrapbook pages (up to 12×18)
$2.25 per scan

Dark background pages*
$2.50 per scan

Photo Selector option*
+$1.00 per scanned page

What these mean

Dark pages
Pages with dark backgrounds (black, brown, deep blue, etc.). These require additional time and adjustment during scanning.

Photo Selector
Individual photos are cropped and saved as separate image files.
